Author's Note

My dear friends Eva Olsen and Peggy Luther encouraged me to write this sequel to Hope Shining Brightly. It is the story of my daughter's struggle to overcome the abusive history that left her unable to feel the normal range of emotions that most others have. It is my hope that this book will help people understand the heartache associated with Reactive Attachment Disorder and also help the other parents who are wandering in the abusive cycle that these children can create. I hated to imagine another parent having to go through the process of finding the information that I worked so hard to find.

This book was written in hopes of saving the children who are the hardest to save. Reactive Attachment Disorder can often destroy families and send needy children back to systems that are not set up to handle the major problems they often cause. Most of these children can be saved. We have to keep working to find the solutions.

Educating the public is just the start. There are many people who are embarking on a quest to save these children. I found my hope in attachment therapy, and I am grateful to the wonderful people who have devoted their lives to saving the most difficult children. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
